What's Really Happening

Columbus State Education Association Newsletter of May 8, 2006

NO-CONFIDENCE VOTE

By now all full-time employees should have received at their home mailing addresses a letter from Marino & Company CPA, an independent accounting firm. These letters were mailed the middle of last week and explain that CSEA has retained the firm to conduct a no-confidence vote in the College's leadership.

The envelope contains a cover letter and a ballot by which employees can indicate their confidence or lack of confidence in the President's leadership.

If you have not received a letter and ballot, please notify Darrell Minor (x5310 or dminor@cscc.edu) or Steve Abbott (x5096 or sabbott@cscc.edu) immediately with your current mailing address. This information will be compared with CSEA's mailing list, and if there has been an error in mailing we will provide accurate information to Marino & Company CPA so that you may receive your ballot from them and participate in this process.

NOTE: as indicated in the cover letter, no one from the College, from CSEA, or from any other group will have access to the returns. Your vote is completely confidential. Only Marino & Company employees will handle the ballots. It is important that all full-time employees take the opportunity to express their views regardless of how they intend to respond. Please convey this information to any staff who express concern about the confidentiality of their votes.

Results will be reported only as aggregate numbers in each category. Faculty results will be reported to full-time faculty. Final tallies for staff and managers will be forwarded to the appropriate leadership.
